Financial Protection and Peace of Mind

SmoothRed is a member of ABTA with membership number Y6346 and ATOL holder number 6634 which means financial protection and peace of mind during your holiday.

What does this mean?

These insurances cover both our flight-inclusive and non-flight inclusive package holidays* departing and returning to the United Kingdom.

This means that in the highly unlikely event that a trip goes wrong (e.g company insolvency, FCO advising not to travel to a particular destination) you would receive a full refund, replacement travel or new dates of travel – depending on the situation. And should problems arise while you are away, you would get the help you need to continue your holiday as planned.

Your travel representative will advise you as to what is covered for your particular booking and will provide supporting documentation. Please note that some exclusions apply.

We still advise that you take out adequate personal travel insurance to protect you individually such as with theft, loss of baggage or health cover which is not protected by us.

We also advise payment is made by a credit or debit card and the added security many card providers offer.

*Package Holidays: It is a legal requirement that package holidays are protected. A package holiday is defined, broadly, as two or more components from transport, accommodation or tourist services, sold in combination. Packages including a flight are ATOL protected. Packages not including flights are ABTA bonded

Exclusions

If you are independently booking travel such as a flight, ferry crossing or hire car, on the other hand, remember that such travel arrangements are NOT covered by ATOL or ABTA as you have booked these directly.

ABTA Protection

SmoothRed is also a Member of ABTA with membership number Y6346. This means that you have the benefit of ABTA’s assistance and Code of Conduct. All the non-flight package holidays that we sell are covered by a scheme protecting your money if the supplier fails. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, ABTA will ensure that customers are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money paid to us for an advance booking. An ABTA Member must adhere to high service standards, fair terms of trading and accurate information, so you’re in safe hands. ABTA’s strict joining criteria for Members, code of conduct, customer helpline and approved ADR scheme to resolve complaints are all here to give you confidence and peace of mind when booking your travel arrangements.  For more information see www.abta.com

Upon booking you will receive an ABTA certificate for the elements of your holiday package which are protected.  If you do not receive an ABTA Certificate then the booking will not be ABTA  protected. If you do receive an ABTA Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ABTA protected. Please see our booking conditions for information, or for more information about financial protection and the ABTA Certificate please visit their website.

Our ABTA bond covers:

  • Non-flight inclusive packages commencing in and returning to the UK.
  • Packages excluding flights to and from your destination which are offered by SmoothRed

Please ask us to confirm which protection applies to your booking.

ATOL Protection

Many of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. But please note that some exceptions apply.

If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected.
