Located in the heart of Burgundy between Dijon and Beaune, Abbaye de la Bussière is a stunning hotel set in a renovated 12th century Cistercian abbey. Nestled within seven hectares of verdant parkland, this Relais & Chateaux property incorporates ancient frescoes, vast stained glass windows, and antique furnishings to give it a truly sumptuous feel, while the cathedral-like setting of the Michelin-starred restaurant adds a definite wow factor.
Named after abbeys and chateaux in Burgundy, the 20 rooms and suites differ in style and layout, but all feature antique woodwork, rich fabrics, large comfy beds, and picture windows with park views. Situated in unique parts of the abbey, the suites offer extra ambiance and additional luxuries like whirlpool baths and Nespresso® coffee machines.
With one Michelin star, Le 1131 restaurant offers a unique dining experience with creative French cuisine served beneath vaulted cloisters, accompanied by a superb wine list. Alternatively head to the former abbey kitchen for a traditional bistro-style meal at the Bistrot des Moines.
While there’s no spa or fitness centre on site, guests can hire bikes to explore the area, or relax, read a book or play a board game in one of three lounge bars.
