Relax with private transfers from the airport. Stay two nights in a luxury vineyard spa hotel, considered the jewel of one of the most precious areas of Piedmont with beautiful views across the vineyards in the Langhe. In the evening savour a sensational Michelin-star tasting menu paired with wines.
After breakfast, meet with your private wine guide. In the morning you will enjoy a memorable truffle hunt around Alba for the most precious black and white truffles. You will learn the inside ropes from a professional truffle-hunter and his trained dog. Your hunt will end with a wine-tasting lunch in the truffle hunter’s home.
During the afternoon, you will visit some of the region’s famous wine villages such as Barolo, La Morra or Serralunga d’Alba. Here you will visit a renowned producer to taste a selection of wines including award-winning Barolos.
Explore Alba and even the Alba White Truffle World Market, the largest international exhibition of truffles (on from early October to late November). Alba is not only visually mesmerising, it is also a superb place to eat and the gourmet capital of Piedmont. In particular, the town is famous for its white truffles and chocolates – it is, after all, the birthplace of Ferrero Rocher and Nutella. Known as the city of a hundred medieval towers, the old town centre is beautifully preserved and maintains a great atmosphere. Relax with lunch before travelling home.
