Trip details

Day 1

As you arrive in Beaune, settle into your hotel before stepping out on the cobbles to explore this captivating town.  Wander the medieval streets of Beaune, its ramparts, the Collegial church of Notre Dame with its 15th century tapestries, and have a drink in one of the many cafés on the main square.

Day 2

The day begins with a short stroll to one of the region’s finest family vineyards where you’ll enjoy your first Burgundy wine tasting. Then it’s on to the famed Côte de Beaune to sample perhaps some of the finest white wines in the world, before enjoying a Burgundy wine tasting lunch at the family estate in the heart of the vineyards.

Day 3

Start the day with a trip to the Côte de Nuits – the northern half of the Côte d’Or wine region in Burgundy. It specialises in red wines made predominantly from Pinot Noir, the most famous and expensive of which come from the Grand Cru vineyards of Vosne-Romanee and Chambolle-Musigny.  With your appetite well and truly stoked, it’s time for your traditional Bourgogne lunch with five accompanying wines.

Day 4

After breakfast stroll to one of the region’s longest family cellars where you’ll enjoy your last Burgundy wine tasting!  There’s just enough time to explore Beaune’s labyrinthine backstreets and alleyways, before bidding farewell to the capital of Burgundy wines.
