Trip details

Day 1

Drive at leisure to the stunning region of Alsace where you will discover the beautiful city of Strasbourg with a great deal of architectural and historical heritage to admire. Your Alsace wine tour begins with a pre-dinner tasting, offering a range of the region’s four of the most prestigious wines along with cheeses and local delicacies.

Day 2

Your Alsace wine tasting tour continues following the Alsace ‘Route du Vin’, passing through Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, Riesling, Muscat and Pinot Gris wine producing regions. Your English-speaking guide will chauffeur you to four wineries during the day where you will sample up to twenty wines!

Day 3

On your final day in Strasbourg city, stroll though the historical centre – a classified UNESCO World Heritage Site, the first city in France to be so honoured. If you have not done it yet, visit the sandstone Gothic Cathedral with its famous astronomical clock. This finest of self-drive holidays continues as you make your way across to the land of Dom Perignon. After settling into your hotel in the heart of historic Reims, end the day with a pop as you take a tour at one of the region’s world-famous Champagne houses.

Day 4

Your Champagne trip continues with a chauffeured tour of vineyards and chateaux along the scenic Route du Champagne. In the morning, discover the cellars of a Grande Maison de Champagne followed by a tasting of their Champagnes. During the day, you’ll delight in local delicacies with a Champagne tasting lunch, followed by a visit to a small prestigious family estate where you’ll be invited to explore the cellars, taste their wines and share in their passion.

Day 5

After breakfast the Capital of Champagne is yours to explore. Perhaps a visit to the gothic splendour of the Notre Dame Cathedral? Or just a final wander among the winding streets of Reims before returning home.
