Trip details

Day 1

Take the train down to  Dijon, an enjoyable way to reach this charming city, the rail journey offers breathtaking views of the scenic countryside along the way. You’ll find your hotel is perfectly placed to explore this charmingly chocolate box town. Start your trip with your first Burgundy wine tasting, enjoy a superb introductory visit of cellars with an oenological explanation of the Burgundy wine region with an English speaking guide.

Day 2

Today’s wine tasting will be devoted to the Pinot Noir’s north of Beaune in Côte de Nuits. In the morning, you will visit a traditional family domain, and of course you will sample a selection of their wines. Lunch will be served in a local domain or restaurant in one of the most famous wine appellations in Burgundy, Gevrey-Chambertin. The afternoon tour includes a visit to the chateau of Vougeot, which houses the brotherhood of the knights of the tastevin. Your final stop will be a tour and wine tasting in Nuits-Saint-Georges before returning to Beaune.

Day 3

After a morning exploring beguiling Beaune, we recommend a visit to the Hospices de Beaune, make your way to Chablis for the next part of your Burgundy wine tasting tour. In Chablis, spend two nights in a boutique hotel set in a former mill of the XVIIIth century. Begin the afternoon visiting a local domain for a tour and tasting of five wines before dinner!

Day 4

Your wine tasting trip continues with a chauffeured private day around the delightful region of Chablis and its surrounding vineyards tasting Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premiers Crus and Grand cru wines. Throughout the day your guide will take you for tastings at three boutique estates, your day also includes a three course lunch with stunning local wine.

Day 5

The morning is yours to discover charming Chablis and its medieval monastery at your own pace. Then it’s off to the Champagne town of Reims to check in to your hotel. The afternoon begins with a pop as you take a tour at one of the region’s world-famous Champagne houses.

Day 6

Your journey of wine tasting in France continues with tours of vineyards and chateaux along the scenic Route du Champagne, starting with a visit to one of the most famous Champagne houses in the region Moët & Chandon! Following your tour enjoy a superb tasting, you will stroll along the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, internationally known as the “Capital of Champagne”. The stunning main street appears like an exhibition of opulent mansions housing the most illustrious Maisons de Champagne: Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier, etc. Not to mention the 100km of tunnels under the pavement. Along the way, you’ll delight in local delicacies with a Champagne tasting lunch, followed by a visit to a small prestigious family estate where you’ll be invited to explore the cellars, tastes their wines and share in their passion.

Day 7

On the final day of your trip there’s just time to soak up the final delights of Reims, perhaps a tour of the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral, before bringing your whirlwind of Burgundy wine tasting and Champagne tours to a close.
